The perspectives of the heroes
The project centres on the audio-visual “reproduction” of a monument devoted to the Great War. Through the shooting by means of a drone, a “point-of-view shot” will be available of some of the most important symbolic statues of the First World War in some regions. The main target is an in-depth analysis, by involving students in the reconstruction of the story of the protagonist of the monument, through audio-visual archives, and the analysis of the transformations in the urban environment over the years, by therefore establishing a link between the past and the present.
The final product will be an amateur documentary film developed by students, where the cinema in its form as documentary and invention, becomes an active and stimulating tool to analyse and reflect upon the history.
In their drafting of a script and a storyboard, classes will be supported by a team made up of authors, directors and documentary filmmakers. The best products will be presented on the occasion of the Villerupt Festival in France during the 2015 edition on the Commemoration of the Centenary of the Great War devoted to the Italian cinema, in the “beginners’” category.
