Along the pathway leading to the evolution of National Unity, School represents the place devoted to the consolidation of common roots, to the sharing of a system of values, and plays a central role in the intellectual development of new generations.
The Ministry for Education, University and Research, together with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, while promoting the initiatives for the commemoration of the First World War, intended to draft a complex set of activities aimed to promote the development of a historical and critical awareness by students vis-à-vis the horror of conflicts, hence promoting areas of communication and analysis on the historiographical path that led to the construction of the sense and the meaning of being an Italian citizen today.
In this regard, six main objectives were defined, each one entailing a specific initiative:
 
- The great events of the School System

• Commemorating the War to Celebrate the Peace in order to activate participatory processes

 
- Projects/laboratories

• Memories of Italy to develop and support education;
• Great War 100 to communicate;
• The perspective of the heroes to deepen;
• Soldiers on Facebook to create interaction and groups of interest;
• The culture of peaceto test and experiment
