Soldiers on facebook
On the occasion of the Centenary, Facebook will become the platform to find and share the highest amount of information on the historical events of the Great War. Documents, letters and archive photographs will be posted by students with the support of a journalist expert in web communication, which will help them along this pathway.
This is a way for extending young people’s knowledge on the conflict; through the language used in social networks, the youth can be closer to the protagonists of those events. The project also includes the creation of a fan page devoted to two different profiles:
- A man, a soldier employed as an alpine transmitter, and therefore a witness of fact;
- A woman, who “lives” the war from home, committed in taking care of family members, working in the fields or in factories, highlighting how for women it represented a moment of emancipation and of accessing the labour market;
The objective is to create interactions, groups of interest and interesting food for thought on a War that never ceased to be a current one. In this phase, the type of interaction, the number of schools and of students visiting those pages will be monitored.
