It is an international educational initiative developed to provide classes of any grade with several new and interactive tools
, useful to discover and deepen topics related to a fundamental period of our contemporary history. The main objective is to develop a cross-section communication on this subject.
 
The website www.centoannigrandeguerra.it is the main and operational centre of the entire project, telling the past through innovative, cross-section, intriguing and transmedia (video, computer graphics, interactive articles) narrations.
 
In the dedicated section, the portal presents the local and territorial events linked to the anniversary of the First World War and the reportages by schools with local contributions and witnessing - plaques, monuments, names of streets and squares, letters and photographs, archival documents, news on diets, sports, culture and industry. It also contains the comments by young urban reporters, sharing global and international witnessing linked to the present perception of the Great War and its anniversary.
 
During the first three years of activity, second-cycle schools may candidate in Italy and abroad to participate in the project as testimonials of specific in-depth analyses in their specific educational background: an ad hoc are in the magazine (School stuff) and a pin (School reportage) on the map identify the contributions sent by the schools.
